David Greenspan is a poet currently living in Michigan. A lecturer in the University of Michigan’s Program in Technical Communication, he’s completing a PhD in English (emphasis creative writing) at the University of Southern Mississippi. He earned an MFA in poetry from UMass Amherst. His writing has appeared in places like Bellevue Literary Review, Berfrois, DIAGRAM, Denver Quarterly, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Mid-American Review, Narrative, Southeast Review, and West Branch.

David’s taught composition and technical writing for several years. His pedagogical interests include critical pedagogy and disability studies. His scholarly interests include the intersection of political economy and avant-garde poetics, ecological thought, and ecosocialism. Poets he can’t stop reading include Sean Bonney, Lucie Brock-Broido, Cynthia Cruz, Larry Levis, Anis Mojgani, Bhanu Kapil, and Mary Ruefle.

Prior to entering academia, David worked in content marketing. He has a cat, Jelly, who enjoys batting and chasing food around, then lolling in sunbeams. He’s had at various times pet rats named Annette, Francis, and Jonas.
